These are very tough times for everybody and we started to feel a little bit of the recession effecting our business. I read a letter sent from you, Jay, about how alot of regular customers with children can't go out to eat as much as they could a couple of years ago.
We contacted Jenna @ Loyal Rewards and sent a mass e-mail to our list of loyal customers for 20% off the total bill. We had an overwhelming response to our coupons and actually had our best day for sales that we had had for a long time. Contrary to popular belief, when you give something away you DO get alot back! We were able to give our loyal customers back for their patronage and they gave back to us with their continued patronage. Thank you Loyal Rewards, Birthday Connections and Moving Targets. I overheard a few independent pizza shop owners like myself, talking about how effective Moving Targets was for their store. We tested a number of your programs this past year and received great responses. We utilized the programs for 3 months. With the Loyalty Rewards program we had a participation percentage of 4%. We collected email addresses and provided the database to your company. This is the best response we've had with any of our coupon programs. I think this number will of course get better the more we use it with our customer base.
We have one month to go on our Birthday Connections for new customers and to date we've received a 16% participation percentage. In 25 years of working in the marketing industry, I've never received such a high participation rate.
We plan on instituting a plan to gain more email addresses in 2010 and have incorporated both the Loyalty Rewards and the Birthday Connections into our budget for next year.
